Police hunt for stolen eye

Police are hunting for a thief who stole a glass eye during a burglary at house in Merseyside.

The glass eye was taken from the home of a 77-year-old woman in Southport.

A police spokesman said: "The eye was taken on 14 October. It has a lot of sentimental value for the owner who wants it returned."

It is described as 4 inches in diameter and made of blue glass with white and pale blue colours with a black iris centre.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
