Protest at school plan

CAMPAIGNERS are expected to descend on Liverpool’s planning committee today to protest at proposals to build a new school on playing fields.

The city council has applied to build a new school on Millbank playing fields, off West Derby Road and Bankfield Road, Tuebrook.

The new school would allow West Derby Comprehensive School and Ernest Cookson school of Excellence to be located on one site.

Protestors are unhappy at the loss of greenspace and will urge the committee to reject the application.
