Police appeal for clues in vicious attack

A 48-YEAR-OLD man from Ellesmere Port is still recovering two weeks after an unprovoked attack left him with a broken jaw.

The attack happened as the man, who was carrying a guitar case, walked back to a friend’s house in Chester.

As the man reached the junction of Bouverie Street and Garden Lane, he was punched on the face and fell to the floor unconscious.

Police say they have no description of his attacker because the incident happened so quickly.

The victim was discovered by a member of the public who called an ambulance.

The man was found to have lost three teeth and suffered severe bruising to his body as well as a broken jaw. He is still struggling to eat and speak following the attack.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire police said last night they had been unable to appeal for witnesses until now because of his injuries.

The attack happened at around 12.55am on Saturday October 13, and anyone with information about the assault is asked to contact PC Nicholas Henderson on 0845 458 0000.
