Go global in Liverpool’s East Village for a deserving cause

FOUR Liverpool restaurants will be celebrating World Food Day with fundraising for Restaurants Against Hunger tomorrow.

Eateries in East Village, on Duke Street, are offering diners the opportunity to taste global fare at half price with all money raised being donated to the charity.

Mexican Savina, Italian Il Forno, Japanese Sapporo Teppanyaki and Indian newcomer Mayur are encouraging the Merseyside public to sample traditional dishes from across the globe.

All the restaurants in the East Village complex have been supporting the Fight Hunger. Eat Out campaign throughout October to support Action Against Hunger’s programmes in 43 countries worldwide.

AAH’s life-saving programmes integrate activities in nutrition, water and sanitation, food security, health care and sanitation in the most needy countries.

The managing partner of Il Forno and Sapporo Teppanyaki, Vince Margiotta, said: “We wanted to give as many people as possible the opportunity to try dishes they may not have tasted before and at the same time raise as much money as possible for a very worthy cause.”
