AS THE six-month anniversary of Madeleine McCann's disappearance approaches, today Gerry McCann will start a return to work at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester.

The father of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann will report for duty after making a brief statement where it is understood he will outline his family’s desire to get some normality back into their lives.

His return to work is just days after it emerged that he and Liverpool-born wife Kate used money from the Madeleine McCann Fund – set up to help to trace their eldest daughter – to pay their mortgage.

After Mr McCann’s statement, Doug Skehan, clinical director of Cardio Respiratory will also make a short statement welcoming the return of his colleague and friend.

Mr McCann and Mrs McCann, who is a GP, have been on unpaid leave since Madeleine McCann disappeared.
