Market up for award

WIRRAL Farmers’ Market has been shortlisted for the prestigious BBC Radio Four Food and Farming Awards.

The New Ferry-based market is one of just three similar operations across the country which have been put forward for this year’s award.

Wirral council’s head of tourism, Emma Degg, said it was “really exciting news”.

WIRRAL farmers’ market is held every second Saturday in New Ferry from 9am to 1pm, with the next one on Saturday, November 10.
