LIVERPOOL NHS workers will be joining hundreds of health staff from across the country in a march through Westminster today.
Members of the skilled workers’ union Unite will demonstrate against NHS changes in Merseyside, including the use of private companies in south Liverpool to provide dermatology services.
The demonstration led by NHS Together, a campaign alliance of 15 health unions, aims to defend the principles of the NHS.
Unite’s north west regional secretary, Laurence Faircloth, said: “NHS staff in Liverpool are becoming increasingly worried about the changes being made to the health service, and feel that the progress in recent years is likely to come under real threat.
“Changes which fail to involve the staff only serve to reduce morale.”
