Police hunt for gunman who shot teenage boy in face

THE hunt was continuing last night for the gunman who shot a 14-year-old boy in the face.

The teenager was taken to Alder Hey hospital and released after treatment for shotgun pellet injuries.

Officers were called to Huyton’s Reeds Road, near to the junction with Bakers Green Road, at 8.30pm on Tuesday.

The teenager was thought to be “some distance” away from the gun when the shots were fired.

The suspects were both wearing black clothing and were seen escaping in a silver car, possibly a Ford Focus, in the direction of Adswood Road.

A Merseyside police spokesman said the boy was out playing with friends when the shots were fired.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police’s gun crime hotline on 0800 458 1211 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
