Park sealed off as body spotted in lake

A SOUTH Liverpool park was sealed off after reports a body had been spotted in a lake.

Police cleared Greenbank Park, Mossley Hill, just after 1.15pm yesterday after a member of the public reported seeing a body floating in the lake.

Officers from the underwater search and rescue team were called in but their efforts were hampered by the evening darkness.

A tent was erected next to the lake and the park was cordoned off throughout the night.

The search resumed this morning.
