Hunt for men after woman injured in Huyton shooting

A WOMAN in her 40s has been shot in what detectives believe was a targeted attack.

Police were called to a house in Wellcroft Road, Huyton, Merseyside, at 10.45pm on Sunday.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her head, arm and leg. Her condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Police are trying to trace three men seen running down Longview Lane shortly after the shooting. They are also investigating reports of a car leaving at speed.

Officers said although a motive had yet to be established, the shooting was thought to be targeted at that address.

It is not thought this incident was related to the shooting of a 20-year-old man in Allerton.
