Mathew Street Warren Bradley
LIVERPOOL council leader Warren Bradley last night confirmed he held a secret meeting with a former official who was blamed for the cancellation of the Mathew Street festival.
He now faces the threat of an investigation by the Standards Board for England, who have been passed a dossier about the meeting.
The council leader invited former city events manager Lee Forde to his home just two days after the publication of the report into the cancellation of the 2007 Bank Holiday event, but denies any wrongdoing. That report laid most of the blame for the fiasco at the door of Mr Forde and former Culture Company operations director Chris Green, which has angered Mr Forde.
He has now compiled a dossier containing a number of allegations about the details of his subsequent meeting with Cllr Bradley, which was also attended by former council leader Mike Storey.
The board must now decide whether to launch a full investigation into the allegations contained in the dossier, a copy of which has been obtained by the Daily Post.
