THE sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian Christmas will come to the Albert Dock this weekend.
Choirs, free roast chestnuts and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future will all combine to create a magical atmosphere at the Liverpool tourist attraction’s Victorian Fayre this Saturday and Sunday.
Joe Edge, director of the Albert Dock Company, said: “The Victorian Fayre marks the peak of the Christmas countdown and we want to bring a little festive joy into the lives of our visitors at this time of year.
“In 2008 Albert Dock celebrates 20 years since its refurbishment and we have lots to be thankful for as we enter the Capital of Culture year.”
On Saturday, a selection of local school choirs will sing Christmas carols, performing from 11am at the front of the Merseyside Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool, while Sunday is the final of the Century FM School Choir X-factor, with the finalists performing live on air.
There will also be plenty to see and do across the bars, restaurants and shops at the Dock.
Blue, Bar and Grill, the Panamerican Club and Ha!Ha! Bar and Canteen are offering complimentary mince pies, Circo and Babycream are providing chocolate shots for all their visitors, and Vinea will have minced pies, mulled wine and hamper offers.
Shiverpool Tours are bringing to life the ghosts of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to offer visitors free guided tours of the Albert Dock.
