Dec 14 2007
FIREFIGHTERS fought a fierce blaze that consumed an unmanned 18 wheel HGV while it was parked on Esk Street, Bootle last night.
The incident is being treated as suspected malicious ignition.
Merseyside Fire Service arrived on scene at around 7.05pm to find the 40 foot articulated lorry ablaze.
They battled the flames using conventional equipment and a combined platform ladder which allows them to work from an increased height.
The truck was full of tyres when the fire started.
