A FUNDRAISING auction held by the Bluecoat was a success after some lots went for triple their reserve price.
The auction, at Leaf on Roscoe Street and hosted by Simon O’Brien, raised £8,000 for the gallery which is currently undergoing a total refurbishment and expansion. It will open again in the spring.
There were 48 lots donated by artists who have been associated with Bluecoat including the Singh Twins and Yvonne Gilbert.
The highest price lots were a piece by John Monks, an internationally recognised painter, which sold for £680; and an exclusive five-course dinner for 10 at the Bluecoat when it re-opens.
