Strike fundraiser

MENTAL health workers in Liverpool supported a sacked colleague allegedly dismissed for speaking to the media.

More than 160 people attended an event at The Pilgrim on Hardman Street on Friday, raising £1,600 for colleagues who went out on strike over Karen Reissmann’s controversial dismissal.

Ms Reissmann, a nurse in Manchester, was fired after she criticised NHS changes.

More than 150 Manchester workers walked out last month.
