THE Liverpool office of law firm DWF has launched a dedicated family service, following the arrival of a team from Fletchers, in Southport.
Partner Pauline McNamara joins DWF along with associate Helen Morgan, solicitor Katrina Davies, trainee solicitor Debbie Conway and secretaries Caroline Meehan, Audrey Harrison and Carol Leevers.
Ms McNamara, who spent five years with Goffey & Co, in Southport, before joining Fletchers in 1994, specialises in divorce, financial settlement and children’s work.
Originally from Liverpool, she now lives in Aughton, Ormskirk. She said: “This is an excellent opportunity for myself and my colleagues to join a highly regarded team within a firm that is really going places.”
These latest appointments come as the firm also launches a dedicated service in Preston.
DWF managing partner Andrew Leaitherland said: “This latest influx of talent will add further depth and breadth to our services and provide us with dedicated family teams in both Liverpool and Preston to complement the highly regarded, established teams in Manchester and Leeds.
” The appointments are in line with our strategy which includes focusing on premium niche areas such as family to help achieve our goal of becoming a top 30 law firm by 2010.”
David Pickering, who heads up DWF’s family team, added: “Pauline was somebody we were aware of due to her expertise and profile.
“We’ve made no secret of our plans to be the premier family law team across the north of England, and Pauline and her team joining in Liverpool, together with Gill Graveson, in Preston, have proved to be complementary to our team and in DWF continuing to realise its goal.”
The arrival of the team from Fletchers signals an exit from matrimonial work for the firm.
Managing partner Robert Fletcher said: “We have very much enjoyed working with Pauline and her team over the years, but as we focus increasingly on our core strengths in the PI market, family law is no longer a core area for us. We wish Pauline and her colleagues every success for the future.”
