M40 crash leads to hundreds of LFC fans missing game

A SERIOUS accident on the M40 has led to hundreds of Liverpool fans missing tonight’s Carling Cup match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The motorway was closed near High Wycombe, Bucks, after the two-vehicle collision this afternoon, leaving cars and coach parties stranded.

Among those affected were Radio City’s commentary team, Steve Hothersall and John Aldridge, who were forced to turn back.

It left the radio station with no commentator at the game and having to rely on studio updates.
