Two hurt in crash

TWO people were taken to Warrington District General Hospital after an accident near Risley prison in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Police were called to the A574 Warrington Road, outside Risley prison, at about 12.45am yesterday, after a silver Nissan Primera and a black Ford Focus had collided.

The driver of the Nissan, an 80-year-old man, and his passenger, a 49-year-old woman, were taken to Warrington District General Hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to call Sergeant Mike Jones, on 01925 613813.
