Special boy to help launch national charity

AN EXTRAORDINARY child from Merseyside is to launch his own national charity after his story was seen around the world.

Two-year-old Alex Connerty, from Maghull, who is 2ft 4in and weighs 13lb 7oz, is one of only a handful of primordial dwarves in the UK.

Now his parents, John and Sue, are setting up a national charity called The Walking With Giants Foundation to help youngsters like Alex, and their families.

Next August, there are plans for a Walking With Giants convention in Liverpool attracting medical specialists and priomordial dwarves from across the world.

The couple were inspired by people across Merseyside who donated money to send their son to meet a dwarf expert and attend the Annual Convention of Little People of America. After their story was broadcast, several families got in touch with the Connertys to find out if their child had primordial dwarfism.

It is families like this the charity wants to help with advice, information, education and, in some circumstances, money.

In the New Year, a website www. walkingwithgiants.org will go live to launch the foundation.
