Ticket to ride even later than before

MERSEYTRAVEL has removed the weekday evening restrictions on its one-day “Saveaway” travel ticket, as part of a review of its pre-paid tickets.

The changes mean passengers on buses, trains and ferries buying a Saveaway ticket can use the services all day any time after 9.30am Monday to Friday and any time at weekends.

The All Zone version of the Saveaway allows people to travel as far as Chester, Ellesmere Port and Ormskirk on Merseyrail trains.

The move comes as the city gears up for an influx of public transport passengers.

The Cross River Saveaway tickets are no longer valid, but they can still be exchanged for All Areas Saveaway tickets at Merseytravel Centres.

Trioplus tickets have been discontinued, but existing tickets remain valid until expiry.
