Birkenhead gun man is jailed for three years

A BIRKENHEAD man who was found to have a double barrel shotgun and drugs at his home was jailed for three years yesterday.

Liverpool Crown Court heard police raided Frank Hannigan’s home in Churchill Avenue on May 18.

He admitted he had cannabis and cocaine, but nderneath his bed they found a double barrel shotgun and a stun gun.

In a spare bedroom, officers found 126 grams of cannabis and six grams of cocaine were found in the dining room, said Robert Jansen, prosecuting.

A drug dealer’s tick list was also discovered as were scales and £990 cash.

Hannigan,24, said the drugs were for his own use and the money came from buying and selling cars. He said the tick list related to money he had loaned people, said Mr Jansen.

Hannigan said the guns had been given to him by to add to his collection.

Hepleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply, possessing cocaine and two fireams offences.

Judge Gerald Clifton said people involved with drugs often have weapons.
