HUNDREDS of badly-behaved youths in Sefton have stayed out of trouble after warning letters were sent to their parents.
More than 500 notes have been delivered to families over the past six months, telling parents their children could be involved in anti-social behaviour.
The initiative was set up by Merseyside police and Sefton council’s anti-social behaviour team and targeted troublemakers in areas including Bootle, Crosby and Southport.
Offences have included suspected underage drinking, rowdy behaviour, possible drug-taking and hanging around in gangs.
So far, more than 80% of those youngsters have not been in trouble again.
