Fairytale party as actress leaves Hollyoaks

IT’S been an emotional rollercoaster of a week for actress Sarah Jane Buckley.

First she got thrown off Hollyoaks, and then she turned 40.

But Sarah has taken it all in her stride and on Saturday partied through the night with a special panto themed bash at her home, a hotel in North Wales, with about 70 guests, including many of the cast of Hollyoaks.

It was a week of high drama in the Chester-based soap.

Sarah plays the mother with low morals and high ambitions, Kathy Barnes. After putting a brick through the window of the Ashworths, long-suffering husband Mike decided on Thursday night to throw her out of the house for good.

And with that came an end to Sarah’s 2½ very happy years with the production.

“It’s my 40th birthday and I’m celebrating with a panto party and about 70 guests, with quite a few from Hollyoaks,” she said.

“It’s also a celebration for the last episode and the week before I was a guest on Loose Women – and I’ve just returned from skiing.”

The Plas Hafod Hotel in Mold, run by her father, David, and brother Simon, closed off its banqueting suite for the private party, which was recorded by OK magazine.

“I would love now to get into presenting. Something like Loose Women would be fantastic. I’ve done an interview on the show, who knows, fingers crossed!”

Guests at the party included Sarah’s screen family Mike Barnes (actor Tony Hirst), Sarah (Loui Batley) and Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) and Rhys Ashworth (Andrew Moss).
