THE body of a former Liverpool businessman who went missing along a causeway between his island home and the Kintyre peninsula in Scotland has been found.
The body of Len Bennett, 70, was spotted on the shoreline on Arran by a passer-by on Saturday.
He vanished on January 4 while driving a four-wheel vehicle from his home on Davaar Island to Campbeltown and was feared drowned.
His Land Rover was found the following day but there was no trace of Mr Bennett, whose body was recovered about 10 miles from the causeway by Clyde Coastguard.
Mr Bennett commuted to Liverpool from North Wales for 30 years when he was a designer/illustrator and partner at McCaffrey Bennett Designers.
He has many relatives in the Birkenhead area as well as in Mold, Flintshire.
His wife, Rose, said: "It's a great relief Len's body has been found. He will be cremated next Thursday and his ashes buried on the island.”
The couple’s daughter, Anne Marie, 26, is a student at Sheffield University.
