Youth admits contempt

A YOUTH who hurled abuse and threats at a Liverpool Crown Court judge a week ago yesterday admitted contempt of court.

Mark Trevor, 18, and his 16-year-old companion ran off after shouting obscenities at Judge David Swift, and Trevor allegedly threw a fire extinguisher at a large double-glazed window, smashing it.

Trevor, of Ruskin Avenue, Wallasey, appeared back before the same judge yesterday after having been kept in custody since the previous afternoon.

He admitted contemptŠ and sent in a letter of apology.

Judge Swift ordered him to remain in custody until the end of the afternoon.

Trevor is due to face magistrates next month accused of criminal damage involving the fire extinguisher.

The 16-year-old admitted contempt a few hours after the incident.

The judge imposed a fine and he ordered that his parents pay £150.
