TWO gun-toting robbers have struck three times in as many hours.

The men, driving a silver Ford Mondeo, held up a Maghull petrol station during a three-hour rampage on Friday.

They then pounced on two lone woman, stealing their handbags at gunpoint

The pair first struck just before 6pm at a petrol station in Liverpool Road North.

Armed with a knife and a gun and wearing balaclavas they told staff to empty the till but left empty-handed.

Two hours later, at around 8pm, a 31-year-old woman was only yards away from her West Derby home when the car screeched to a halt next to her.

The thug jumped out and shoved the pistol into the terrified victim’s face.

He demanded her handbag while the driver of the Mondeo shouted sickening threats.

The victim’s father said: “What type of low-life uses a gun to steal someone’s handbag?

“They really are the lowest of the low.”

Another woman was targeted just before 9pm on Aspes Road, yards from Yew Tree cemetery.

The car, later found abandoned in Stockbridge Village, was today being tested.
