A WOMAN needed stitches to her head after being hit by a brick thrown at a bus.
Irene Puddifer, 60, was travelling home on a number 17 Stagecoach bus after visiting her sister-in-law in hospital, when thugs attacked in Norris Green.
The brick shattered the window where Mrs Puddifer was sitting and struck her on the side of the head.
She was taken by ambulance to Fazakerley hospital where she received five stitches and was treated for shock.
Merseyside police confirmed an object had been thrown at the bus at 7.45pm on Thursday and appealed for witnesses to come forward. CCTV footage from cameras on the bus and in the area is now being recovered.
