Two arrested after car crash

TWO men were arrested after a three-year-old boy was injured when the car he was travelling in left the road and plunged down an embankment near Warrington.

The child was taken to Warrington General hospital with cuts to his face after he was thrown around the black Suzuki Vitara as it veered off the road.

The car skidded off the A56 Chester Road, near Daresbury, on Sunday afternoon and came to rest in the undergrowth.

The driver fled, leaving the boy, three other adult passengers and a six-year-old dazed by the side of the road. All those in the car were from the Warrington area.

The older child suffered back injuries and was also taken to hospital. Officers arrested a 24-year-old local man they think was driving and another man.
