Mobile phone videos plea after armed robbery

SHOPPERS and office workers could have vital evidence of an armed robbery in Chester city centre on their mobile phones.

Detectives investigating the raid yesterday afternoon say many people in the busy Eastgate Street are believed to have images of the robbers on their mobile phones.

The robbery took place shortly before 4pm.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said one of the men pointed what is believed to be a handgun at staff.

The spokeswoman said the three men then “dispersed into the city centre” having escaped with the valuable watches and jewellery.

Anyone with mobile phone pictures, video, or who just witnessed any part of the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 0845 458 0000, quoting incident 516.
