Man attacked friend after row

A YOUNG Burtonwood man who attacked a friend in St Helens has been given a suspended sentence.

Beren Harvey, of Perrins Road, pleaded guilty to assaulting Stephen Ennis causing actual bodily harm.

Andrew Ford, prosecuting, told Liverpool Crown Court Harvey was drinking with friends, including Mr Ennis, in a flat in Prescot Road.

An argument developed about women, which led to Harvey and another man attacking Mr Ennis outside the property.

Judge Nigel Gilmour, QC, sentenced him to six months’ detention, suspended for 18 months, and ordered him to carry out 200 hours’ unpaid work.
