Thieves load cars on to flat lorries

CAR thieves in Ellesmere Port have found a new way of taking vehicles – loading them on to the back of a flat-bed lorry.

They have targeted older cars and usually dress in fluorescent jackets common to those who do that kind of work legitimately.

The thieves are believed to have taken around half a dozen cars this way, and DS Shaun Pyke, of the Neighbourhood Policing Unit Investigation Team, said: “They have been challenged whilst loading cars and have calmly explained that the owner has asked for the vehicle to be taken away.”
