AN INFANT and junior school in Ellesmere Port are to be amalgamated.
St Saviour’s Catholic Infants and St Saviour’s Catholic Juniors share the same site in Seacombe Drive.
Cheshire’s Executive agreed yesterday that the amalgamation will take place from this September. The school capacity will be increased to 350 pupils with an admission number each year of 50.
David Rowlands, Cheshire’s lead member for children’s services, said: “The proposal is supported by the two schools involved.
“The new school will be located in the two buildings until pupils can be brought together on one site.
“The amalgamation is consistent with the county council’s support for all-through primary schools.
“It will deliver educational benefits for the children as well as advantages for the management of the school.”
