Buckets of love project to help the world’s poor

A NEW aid project to help families in some of the world’s poorest areas is being set up by a Liverpool charity worker.

In a similar vein to the Christmas shoebox appeal that sends presents to poor children, Buckets of Love wants people to fill a bucket with 25 items that will make life easier for poverty-sticken families. After being filled with practical and personal items, the bucket – and its frisbee lid – can be used again.

Buckets of Love began in America and is being set up in the UK by 27-year-old Jodi Unsworth, the north of England representative of Blythswood Care.

Ms Unsworth said: “This is a brand new aid relief project, and we need to fill at least 20,000 buckets.”

Buckets of Love will be launched on February 12 at business and press event at the Malmaison Hotel.
