More than 1,300 pictures by Merseyside photographers now on website

MORE than 1,300 pictures have now been sent to the Liverpool Daily Post’s online photo gallery, which aims to document Capital of Culture year through the eyes of local photographers.

The city’s architecture appears to be a popular focal point for many snappers using our gallery – on photo-sharing website Flickr – at the moment, with Kap'n'Kaos taking an unusual perspective of the Liver Building, framing it within ornate lamp-posts.

Elsewhere, Kebabman01 has combined the old – the city’s Anglican Cathedral – with the new – the Echo Arena – to come up with a stunning night-time image of Liverpool in 2008.

BarneyF, meanwhile, has added effects to his picture of the Metropolitan Cathedral to create a striking image.

And good use of black and white effects makes one of the Mersey Tunnel ventilation shafts really stand out.

Finally, Andymiah’s snapshot of life in Penny Lane certainly grabs attention.

You can put your pictures of life in 2008 on our Flickr group at www.flickr.com/groups/liverpooldailypost08.

Picture editor Richard Williams will select his favourites each week for publication in the Daily Post.
