Art gallery partly reopens after mercury spills out of clock

AN ART gallery will partly reopen today after an accident in which mercury spilled out of a grandfather clock.

Visitors and staff were evacuated at The Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead, on Monday after the mercury poured out of a clock.

Specialist cleaners spent yesterday advising staff and cleaning up. Fears that exhibits may have been damaged have been quashed.
