THE Cybermen will be invading Wirral this weekend as Spaceport celebrates the success of the BBC series Dr Who.
The shiny aliens will join other classic Doctor Who enemies such as Davros, the creator of The Daleks, the bat-like Tetrap from Sylvester McCoy's debut story Time and the Rani and The Ogrons, the ape Dalek servants from Jon Pertwee's time in the series.
Also at Spaceport in Seacombe will be one of the classic Daleks themselves.
Ken Moss, Spaceport manager, said: “Although they are some of the most feared villains of all time, I’m sure they will go down a treat with our many visitors to Spaceport.
“We hope people come along and get into the spirit of the weekend, which should be great fun.”
Sunday will also see the arrival of The Doctor with his assistant, Rose, to battle Sycorax, Ood, Scarecrows and Clockwork Droids as Spaceport welcomes characters from the latest Doctor Who series – courtesy of Hyde Fundraisers.
The Doctor's robot dog K-9 will also be coming to save the day and protect visitors to the UK’s most modern space-themed visitor attraction.
The Hyde Fundraisers will be raising money for BBC Children In Need so visitors can come along and meet Pudsey too.
The Dr Who weekend will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
