A LIVERPOOL woman locked up for a brutal knife attack in which a teenager was slashed while in the shower, has had her sentence of six years cut to five years at London’s Appeal Court.
Carly Barrett, 21, of Atwell Street, was sentenced to detention at Liverpool Crown Court in July after she was found guilty of wounding with intent over the June 2006 attack on Paige Affelat.
The assault was compared to the infamous shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s film “Psycho”.
Accomplice, Carrie McCarten, received an indefinite hospital order in December last year after admitting wounding with intent.
Miss Affelat was slashed with a knife and broken bottle while washing her hair at home. She had to have around 100 stitches.
McCarten believed an ex-boyfriend was seeing Miss Affelat.
