AN INVESTIGATION is continuing into the death of a pub landlord who was found dead at the bottom of a flight of stairs at a Merseyside flat.
Police are trying to determine whether Terry Kinsella, 39, was attacked or if he accidently fell down the stairs at Childwall Parade, off Pilch Lane, Huyton.
Mr Kinsella, who managed The Boundary pub close to the flat, was taken to the Royal Liverpool University hospital where he died.
His only obvious injury was a small wound to his head.
An investigation was launched and detectives arrested three people – two women, aged 25 and 26, and a 28-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
After questioning, all three were released on bail, pending further inquiries.
Police have revealed that a group of friends, including Mr Kinsella, were socialising at The Boundary on Saturday night before moving on to a flat above shops on the parade.
A small group of people carried on drinking and police are urging anyone who was at the premises to come forward.
DCI Martin Andrews said: “This investigation is ongoing and we are keeping an open mind as to how he came about his death.
“We are trying to piece together what has happened and there are a couple of witnesses we need to speak to.”
Flowers have been piled high at The Boundary pub.
Tributes to the well-known community figure read Rest In Peace while several bouquets of flowers were left to Dear Terry.
The pub has been closed until further notice.
