THE University of Liverpool has been voted one of the best places to work.
A survey by The Scientist magazine ranked the university as the second best place for post-doctoral researchers to work outside America. Cambridge came first.
The poll asked researchers from academic, private and government laboratories round the world to assess their working conditions and research facilities.
The university was praised for its Rising Stars scheme, which guarantees promising young researchers academic positions when their post-doctoral positions end.
