A THIEF who raided his aunt’s house while she was out has been spared prison.
While Rose Murray was out with her children, her nephew Edward went into the property and raided it.
The 22-year-old, of Yewtree Lane, West Derby, took jewellery, some with sentimental value, and a mobile phone.
Murray was caught after his blood was found in the house.
He later admitted the theft on August 4 last year, but yesterday Judge David Swift spared him jail after hearing Ms Murray had forgiven him and had attended Liverpool Crown Court to support him.
He ordered Murray – who has previous convictions for taking a vehicle without consent, intimidation and handling stolen goods – to do 75 hours unpaid work in the community.
He also placed him on a community order for 12 months.
