THE most impressive line-up in the history of the Creamfields festival was unveiled at its official launch last night.
The festival, which moved from Speke to Daresbury near Warrington in 2006, will be headlined by electronica-indie rock outfit Kasabian, it was confirmed.
But the 10th anniversary bill will also include Tiesto, Fat Boy Slim, Soulwax, Gossip and former Stone Roses front man Ian Brown.
Festival organisers say the rock and dance acts will “break a new dawn” for the event, which spreads over two days for the first time.
Cream supremo James Barton said: “It’s amazing that even after 10 years, Creamfields is still evolving as a festival.

“I know we say this every year, but this year’s line-up is the best to date and with some imaginative changes to the format of the show, we hope we have laid the foundations for the next 10 years.”
Kasabian’s last album, Empire, went straight in at number one and has sold more than 700,000 copies so far.
The band said: “We have heard great things about the festival over the years and it is an honour to be asked to headline on its 10th anniversary. ”
Ian Brown advised music lovers to “bring your dancing shoes to the world’s greatest dance festival”.
Paul Van Dyk, Pendulum, Simian Mobile Disco, Chic featuring Nile Rogers, Roots Manuva, Erick Morillo, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, David Guetta and 2Many DJs complete the line-up.
A Creamfields spokesperson said: “To celebrate a decade at the forefront of the UK dance movement, this summer will break a new dawn for Creamfields with a landmark line-up that unites rock and dance like never before.
“We are delighted Kasabian have chosen Creamfields 08 for an English festival exclusive.
“Never before has a festival with the calibre of Creamfields embraced such sensational live bands, showcasing another reason why Liverpool won the European Capital of Culture accolade.”
Tickets for the weekend of Saturday August 23 and Sunday August 24 went on sale yesterday. The event will include more than 100 DJs across 10 arenas. Cream says it has a record-breaking year of events planned with a total of 13 Creamfields festivals happening worldwide.
