DOZENS of fish have been moved from a Liverpool lake after growing too big for their waters.
A number of carp were netted from the small boating lake in Walton Hall Park last week and placed into the larger lake after outgrowing their initial surroundings.
Not only were conditions getting cramped for the big fish, but their presence in the lake was reported to be scaring young children playing with boats there.
Fish weighing over 4.4kg – a total of 200kg worth – were transported to the larger lake by a team from the Environment Agency and city council. They are said to be happy in their new home.
