Man is charged with gun offences

A MAN has appeared in court on gun charges connected to the murder of Mark Corkhill, found dead by a dog walker in Liverpool.

Mr Corkhill had been shot several times in the legs and bled to death in Dam Wood, in Croxteth, on Monday, February 18.

Police arrested four people, two men and two women, over the death of the 38-year-old – they have all been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A fifth arrest was made at a Richmond Park address on Saturday during the execution of a firearms warrant.

As a result, Joseph Manley, 41, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court yesterday.

He was charged with two counts of possessing firearms and one of possessing a firearm despite a previous banning order.

Magistrates remanded him in custody until his next court appearance on June 18.
