Police treat Birkenhead Casino body death as suspicious

POLICE are not treating the death of a young man found behind a casino in Birkenhead as suspicious.

The body of the man, thought to be in his 20s, was discovered by a member of the public at 8.30am yesterday off busy Borough Road.

It is just yards away from where a charred body was found in remnants of the bonfire on waste ground in Whetstone Lane.

Scene-of-crime officers have visited the scene and the area has been cordoned off for forensic examination.

However, police are no longer pursuing this death as a crime.
