THE Cooking Bus pulled into Liverpool yesterday to teach children how to cook.
The specially-built articulated lorry pulled up outside the Alsop School, in Walton.
Pupils spent the day learning to make dishes including king crab fish cakes, pissaladiere and lime lassis.
The buses tour the country delivering lessons to pupils and teachers on how to enjoy healthy real food.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) sponsors the bus, which gives priority to schools in low- income areas.
Gill Fine, of the FSA, said: “Our workshops help children to think about the food they eat, where it comes from and how to make healthy dishes in an hygienic environment. We hope that it will inspire them to continue cooking.”
