Liverpool-born science fiction writer shortlisted for top literature prize

A LIVERPOOL born science fiction writer has been shortlisted for one of the UK’s top literature prizes.

Stephen Baxter, has been chosen as one of six authors in the running for the Arthur C Clarke Award 2008.

It’s the second time Baxter has been nominated for the award which will be announced in April.

His novel ‘The H-Bomb Girl’ is about time travel adventures in 1960s Liverpool.

Matthew de Abaitua, Sarah Hall, Steven Hall, Ken MacLeod and Richard Morgan are the other nominated authors.
