Teenager guilty of murder attempt

A TEENAGE gunman has been found guilty of attempting to kill two young brothers in a revenge attack.

Lee Jamieson, 19, used a handgun to shoot at the two teenage boys because he had “never forgotten” they had reported him to police years before.

Jamieson was arrested for assault and robbery in 2004 and was later jailed, but on his release he began to harass the pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Liverpool Crown Court heard on June 2 last year, he deliberately targeted the brothers.

Gerald Baxter, prosecuting, told the court he drove past their house several times, calling them “grasses” and threatening to stab and shoot them.

Later that day, as the brothers returned home with their father, they spotted Jamieson loitering nearby again and decided to drive after him.

But after catching him in the Childwall Village area, Jamieson pulled himself out the window of a silver Volvo and produced a handgun.

Mr Baxter, prosecuting, said: “The defendant had a handgun and he pointed it, and with that gun the defendant fired several shots.”

Jamieson, of Meriden Road, denied two counts of attempted murder, possessing a firearm with intent.

Judge Gerald Clifton adjourned sentencing until April 2, but warned Jamieson he was facing a long stretch behind bars.
