A STOLEN 36-tonne lorry smashed into a hairdressing salon in Bootle.

A STOLEN 36-tonne lorry smashed into a hairdressing salon in Bootle.

The lorry, which had been stolen that morning from a local Territorial Army Barracks, ploughed into Hairworks Hair and Beauty at the corner of Hawthorne Lane early on Saturday morning.

Police had to remove the lorry from inside the shop, but the driver fled the scene. Experts are now assessing whether the building has to be demolished.
