Arrests in city drug operation

SEVEN people were arrested in dawn raids yesterday in a crackdown on the supply of controlled drugs.

The raids were carried out at six Liverpool addresses and one property in Widnes.

Officers seized more than two kilos of suspected amphetamine, a mixing agent, a hydraulic press and £50,000 cash.

Two of those arrested were held on suspicion of money laundering, the other five arrests were for conspiracy to supply.

All seven people will be interviewed by detectives at police stations in Merseyside.
