Turf goes down for the new-look Chavasse Park
THE first piece of turf at the new Chavasse Park was laid yesterday.
The completely rejuvenated five-acre parkland, part of the £1bn Liverpool One development, has a completely new design and landscape, and will now become a central feature of the city centre hosting events and acting as a scenic link between the heart of the city and the waterfront.
The turf laying will result in the park being completed in time for the first phase launch of Liverpool One in May, although it will not be in use until the grand opening in September.
Named after WW1 hero Captain Noel Chavasse, the park is being transformed into a haven of greenery for visitors to the city centre. It will also serve as the “back garden” to residents.
